Due to the complexity of the worker’s compensation system, experience has shown the advantages of utilizing a network system of care, minimizing exposure to lost employee time, injuries and excessive disability awards. Our system is designed to provide optimal quality care, efficient case management and communications. Management of a worker’s compensation case is much more difficult than managing a non-work related injury. If requested, Nova Urgent Care will remain engaged in the case management even after referral. Proper oversight is the single most important cost savings feature in reducing lost time from work and we offer an established network of provider specialists, rehab centers, and hospitals selected for their exceptional service and ability to provide cost saving services.

Communication

Nova Urgent Care provides an open line of communication among medical care providers, patients, and insurance carriers. Our experienced staff is dedicated to provide clear communication and timely reports. Verbal notification is given to the employer for all employees unable to work. Faxed reports are available upon requests.

Nova Urgent Care secures immediate appointments with specialists, rehab work hardening centers, physiotherapy and expedites authorization for treatment.

Nova Urgent Care encourages company tours to gain a better understanding of the job site allowing our providers a better understanding of the availability of modified duty.  We provide on-site employee health promotion lectures, health screenings and flu vaccines.

Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses

On-the-job injuries are seen on a walk-in basis. Although no appointment is necessary, when possible, it is helpful to notify us by phone that an injured individual is en route. Major injuries and life-threatening situations, such as possible neck fractures, open fractures or possible heart attacks should be taken directly to the emergency room where facilities for their management are readily available.  Please contact us with any question regarding the proper method of handling a problem.
